CLIMATE RESILIENCE AND ADAPTATION

Helping Communities Adapt, Thrive, and Build Climate Resilience

Climate change is one of the biggest threats to food security, water access, and livelihoods in Kenya. Rising temperatures, unpredictable rainfall, and extreme weather events are pushing vulnerable communities into poverty and hunger.

Our Climate Resilience & Adaptation program equips communities with knowledge, skills, and resources to adapt and thrive in a changing climate.

  • Climate-Smart Agriculture: Training farmers on drought-resistant crops, regenerative farming, water conservation, and sustainable irrigation to improve food security.
  • Disaster Risk Reduction: Helping communities develop early warning systems and adaptation strategies to reduce the impact of climate disasters like floods and droughts.
  • Restoring Ecosystems & Biodiversity: Leading reforestation efforts, promoting agroforestry, and protecting water catchment areas to restore degraded environments.
  • Lakeshore Vegetation Regeneration: Restoring critical riparian vegetation along Lake Victoria to stabilize ecosystems, reduce erosion, and improve water quality.
  • Fish Breeding Zone Protection: Preventing habitat destruction by discouraging harmful fishing practices, enforcing environmental regulations, and promoting sustainable fishing techniques.
  • Community-Led Climate Education & Advocacy: Integrating climate literacy into schools, training local leaders, and advocating for stronger environmental policies at the grassroots level.
